His forte is collecting and analyzing the clues in his father's cases. Queen authors, cousins Frederic Dannay and Manfred B. Lee, devised an interesting metaphysical conundrum when they created a fictional author who writes detectives stories about his own fictional exploits. There were thirty-three novels and many short stories beginning with The Roman Hat Mystery (1929).
